CHILD DAY CARE
Eileen Immken, B. Ed., M.A., Director

Kingdom House Day Care Center provides child care for low income families who are working or attending school or training. We provide care for 94 children ages 3 months to 6 years. Our Infant/Toddler and Pre-School programs have accreditation under the Missouri Voluntary Accreditation Program and we are a member of the Child Day Care Association of Saint Louis which provides technical support and in-service training services.

We have a Health Check Program, USDA Nutrition Program, Special Needs Program for developmental problems, and a Foster Grandparent Program.

A social worker assists parents with enrollment and personal social service needs as well as provides an educational program for parents.

Head Start and Early Head Start programs are incorporated into our program.

YOUTH SERVICES
Antwine Rook, B.A., Director of Neighborhood Services

Kingdom House Youth programs include an After School Program for ages 6 to 12 that provides tutoring, arts and crafts, computer training, fitness, field trips, and a meal each day after school. Our Summer Day Camp operates for eight weeks each summer. We also offer youth a variety of recreational activities including organized baseball, basketball and soccer teams. Camperships provide inner city children with overnight camping and field trip experiences.

Teen youth programs include life skills classes and a TREND chapter. A youth leader supervises a peer counseling program for teenagers and provides social group work and life planning. Activities focus on developing self-awareness, self-esteem, and leadership skills in high-risk, street-wise youth.

KINGDOM HOUSE FAMILY CENTER
Shay Blackwell, B.Ed., Deaconess in the United Methodist Church,
Director

The Kingdom House Family Center (formerly CAPS) was created to address the problem of child abuse and neglect in the St. Louis metropolitan area. The focus of the project is the primary prevention of child abuse and neglect on a neighborhood level by identifying and alleviating the individual and family problems that lead or contribute to child abuse and neglect. KHFC has approached this problem by creating a partnership with other neighborhood organizations as well as networking with city and county resources.

The Family Center is now located at Kingdom House.
